Picture Canyon Interpretive Signs Address: None Assessor's Parcel Number: 113-06-004 Property Owner: City of Flagstaff Applicant: Heritage Preservation Commission City Staff: Karl Eberhard, HPO REQUESTED ACTION: Approve Certificate of Appropriateness The City of Flagstaff Open Space Program is in the process of designing an additional phase of the interpretive signs to be installed throughout Picture Canyon Natural and Cultural Preserve. Sign text was developed in partnership with local experts and has been reviewed by the tribal affiliates. A series of 8 signs are being installed, covering archaeology (3 signs), logging history (1 sign), riparian restoration (2 signs), stream ecology (1 sign), and community involvement (1 sign). The 3 archaeology-themed signs will be installed at the Waterbird Petroglyph Site under a Project Specific Permit obtained through the Arizona State Museum.
