Review list of proclamations and/or events emailed by Shannon Anderson on April 16th and possible action of adding proclamations and/or events to the 6-month planning calendar for July through December 2019. (Handouts were emailed on April 16th – print outs will not be provided)
Review lists of other organizational committees brought by each commission member and possible action of creating liaisons for other diversity groups. During the July 24, 2018 commission meeting the Commission members provided the following names of organizational committees for further consideration: Flagstaff Community Coalition, NAU Diversity Commissions (i.e. Commission on Ethnic Diversity, LGBTQIA, Women’s Commission, Disability Commission, Native American Commission), and YMCA Advisory Board. The Commission members will consider what gaps may exist to establish new connections. This item will be tabled until the November meeting after the Public Forum.
I. Set agenda items for next meeting on June 18, 2019. X. Agenda for Future Meeting(s) A. Shannon Anderson to follow up on Pamela Malone parking permit as Commission member. (emailed 4/16/19) B. June 18th meeting: Tracking Commission member appointment by City Council for terms expiring 9/1/2019 and develop transition plan. C. August 20th meeting: Public Forum. D. Conversation on changing the name of Commission from Commission on Diversity Awareness to Commission on Diversity Appreciation. E. Discussion about Diversity Fair. F. Response from Procurement as a result of the Transportation presentation – Requested data on how often local service providers are awarded contracts vs. non-local (Rick Barrett requested 10/16/18. Shannon followed up on 4/8/2019.) G. Review planning calendars created by each commission member and possible action of adopting final draft Commission of Diversity Awareness 6-month planning calendar. XI. Adjournment
